Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, raised in Wellington) is a Canadian actor from Canada. Paquin, born in Winnipeg and was raised by Wellington Paquin's mother, made her acting debut as Flora McGrath. For this role she received an Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress in the romantic comedy The Piano at the young age of 11. She was the second youngest recipient in Oscar history. Anna Paquin full name Anna Helene Paquin, born July 24 the 24th of July, 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster as Best Supporting Actress acting as the bright and interesting daughter of Holly Hunter's main role in The Piano. After an audition Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter of a Scottish pianist. Flora McGrath is the daughter of the mute Scottish musician who came from Scotland to New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. The actress moved to the United States as a teen. Paquin played the lead role in Fly Away Home in 1996 as well as a brief appearance in the film as Jane Eyre in the film when she was just a young child. Paquin played a minor role in the 1997 TV movie adaption of Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. Also, she played Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). She played teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998) She's All That (1999) and A Walk on the Moon (1999) as well as the character of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa on the screen in Almost Famous (2000).
